Special Funds Conservation Committee (SFCC) is in the process of winding down its operations.
Specifically, as of September 10, 2018, SFCC discontinued administering any claims, including workers’ compensation, volunteer firefighter, and volunteer ambulance worker claims. These claims have been transferred to the Workers’ Compensation Board’s new Third Party Administrators (TPAs), which assumed responsibility for all claims administration services. Any claims that were previously handled by SFCC, including payments to injured workers and medical providers, have also been transferred.
Injured workers have been notified of the name and contact information of their new TPA, and have been advised to inform their legal representatives and medical providers of this change. All requests for treatment authorization on and after September 10, 2018, must be sent to the correct TPA for the injured worker. While SFCC will continue to forward any medical bills it receives during a transition period to the proper TPA for resolutions and payment, SFCC expects that such transition period will end by April 1, 2019.
For information about the new TPA, the injured worker (or for any individuals who have previously submitted Form OC-400 or medical bills to the Workers’ Compensation Board for that person in that workers’ compensation case) may contact the New York Workers’ Compensation Board at the number and e-mail address below:
Please note that the distribution of claims amongst the new TPAs does not follow any identifiable pattern (such as injured worker last name or injury date); however, the Workers’ Compensation Board will direct the appropriate individuals to the applicable TPA on a case-by-case basis upon request.
Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated during this transition period.
